I bought this book in the summer of 2008 and didn't finsih reading it before Randy died. So I left it and started all over yesterday. I just finished and I cried the last few pages. I am glad Randy had the chance to share his life with us and leave something behind for his kids - the real head fake of the book. I wish them and Jai the very best.

After 10 years I decided to go back to school to get my masters, at my Alma Matter. I applied and I did not get in. I was shocked hurt, confused, and then I thought of Randy's Brick wall quote. I made an appt. with the head of the department, pleaded my case and asked for a shot. What did I have to lose right? After our meeting I emailed her and thanked her for talking to me, adding Randy's Brick wall quote at the bottom of my email as a closing line. A month later I was provisionally accepted. I'mhappy to say I'm in my second semester and have fully been accepted as a graduate student. Brick walls really are there to show us how badly we want something!

I just finished the book, and I nearly cried with each bit of guidance he has given me. I hope to move others in the way he has moved the nation. A definite great read, and life-changing book.

I bought this book for my husband as a gift a few years ago. Recently, for a class I am taking, my professor asked us to choose a book to read and then respond to questions. I chose this book. I have been wanting to read it, but was unsure of how emotional I would get, being a survivor of cancer. I have to say, this book is one of the greatest books I have ever read, and plan on re-reading it and taking some much needed notes that Randy has so graciously offered! Thank you for giving me a new outlook on life, Randy. God Bless his family.

After seeing Randy Pausch’s last lecture I was inspired to take a look at my own life and identify the things that I’m doing right and find out ways to change the things that I am not. Life is short and you have to live it to the fullest. Thank you for sharing you story and life.

Thank GOD for a world where there are people like Randy Pausch! I am not an avid reader, but I found myself entranced in his book! What an amazing guy he was! What an optimist! What a man of strong values! I found myself so eager to turn each page and praying for a happy ending... AND... There was one! If you are an optimist you can see that what you do in this life can be bigger than yourself! If you are to dream big and have the ability to touch millions, you have done something right. You have brought a much needed piece of humanity to the world! You have done something GREAT! You have (in my opinion) been blessed and touched by the hand of GOD! You have inspired! Thank you Randy and your spirit which is bigger than the human condition! Thank you Randy’s family --- I know you will all do GOOD things! May you and all of your endeavors always be BLESSED!

After watch the "Last Lecture" I was deeply moved by how sincere Randy was about his life and experiences. I hope that his family is well and coping with his death in way that brings honor to his memory. I had to watch the lecture for a class assignment; best assignment ever! I felt so connected to his story and came away with a sense of urgency. Life is so short; we really do need to make the most of it. Looking at the way Randy lived his life it is clear that he had a sense of urgency too. I am interested in reading his book now and would recommend anyone that his feeling a little lost of misguided to watch / read the “Last Lecture.”

I just watched the last lecture video and I am amazed by Randy's words. I've never met Randy, but after watching his lecture I felt like he was an old friend giving me some great advice that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. His positivity and humor was contagious and he made me feel at ease about death and dying. There is so much time wasted in negativity and I feel that with a positive attitude I can overcome any obstacle. Thanks so much Randy! Even though you are gone, your message continues on!

Who are my mentors I can turn to? What lessons have they taught me? Growing up in a house full of women my mentor was always my mom. My dad was never really around in my life and I talked to him once a year. She showed me the errors of my way and kept me on the straight and narrow. She has taught me how to be active in my community. She has given me guidance on how a real man should act. Always treat women with respect and if I have a baby always be there for it. These are lessons that can only be taught to u by a true mentor.

Like Randy I also have a significant Mentor named Mike Brown. I chose Mike because He's my advocate for hillside which is a youth program that helps with employment, academics, college, and maturity. Mike helps me with every thing I need to become a better person outside and inside of school. The lesson he taught me was to keep my goals set and check them off as I complete them. So as my mentor he's like another teacher to me because we have a lot in common and interest is almost the same.

Reading this book made me think about the lessons in my life. Some lessons i've learned were to always be respectful and do good. That's an important lesson to me because you need to do good and be respectful to be something in life. I really want to be something in life and i will.

Why has this lecture/book struck a chord with so many people? The lecture reached out to everybody of every sort.It is a real life situation that can happen to anybody. It makes you think about your own life and appreciate what you have. The lecture and the book both inspires people to live life to the fullest while they can and live everyday like its their last.It made me think about one of my grandmothers and how she had breast cancer and how i would feel if I had lost her.

I really liked the book “ The Last Lecture” by Randy Pausch because it was inspirational. Randy achieved his childhood dreams in many of ways. Some dreams he achieved wasn’t childhood dreams. They were things he wanted to do before he pasted. I respect Randy Pausch, because he did what he wanted to do not what others wanted him to. Another thing that I loved is that he wanted to spend as much time with his children, and wife. The thing about it is that he did, but he also shared his last experiences with the world. This book is helping me achieve dreams and goals as a young adult, because you can achieve any thing in any condition if you put your mind to it.

Reading this book made me think about the dreams my father had. The dream my father had was to be a professional baseball player. He played baseball in high school and he was a very good player. Then when he turned about 19 years old he had my older sister. That's the reason why he didn't make it is because he had kids and it interfered with school. I plan on waiting until I'm much older to have kids for i can follow my dreams and accomplish it.

First i watched the video or Mr. Pausch last lecture and thought it was awesome. I liked how even though he knew he was dying of pancreatic cancer he still managed to be happy and make the best of his life. When i was younger i had many childhood dreams. To become a doctor; lawyer and also a vetenarian. I planed on pursuing my dreams by going to school getting the best education learning everything about what I wanted to do. Some of Mr. Pausch childhood dreams was to become a Astronaut to travel into space. He wanted to go into the science field and work as an animator at Walt Disney World. He managed to do all these things by pushing himself to do it. He had a lot of motivation and came along to do what he said he would do.

What are the lessons of my own life? I feel over my life I have always somewhat high standards for what I wanted to be and do. Everyday I have new experiences and learn new lessons. I feel as if a person has to go through dark times in order to see the errors of their ways. Its takes a person going through a lesson, to learn a lesson. Randy talks about his dark time with the thought of leaving his wife and kids. But he also realize he should enjoy life to the fullest. Live everyday as if it's his last.

This book by Randy Pausch has inspired my life to not only set goals but accomplish them. My goal as a child was to become a professional athlete ,and I'm achieving this by staying in school and playing all different types of sports. As I read into this book he was telling us readers to enjoy the little things in your life. So by me reading this book, i started to enjoy the little things in my life. For example, I'm going to young men groups which creates young men and know I'm attending a Cleveland Cavaliers game.

Reading about Randy's life has made me think of my childhood dreams. One of my childhood dreams were to play sports. The sport I really wanted to play was baseball. Another sport was football, those were my childhood dreams. I might achieve them by working hard and doing the right thing.

Reading this book as inspired me to work hard to fulfill my childhood dreams. Ever since i was little I always wanted to restore and drive a classic car of my own. After reading Randy Pausch's book, I have realized time is of the essence. He has inspired me to start my childhood dream a little earlier then I expected. Now I am working on my own classic car trying to get it ready in time for when I start my senior project.

What are my childhood dreams? How might I achieve them? As a child I always had childhood dreams to be a music producer.I was involved in music since I was 9 years old.I always knew that the only way I could achieve them was by working hard and stay with motivation. At first i started out rapping from ages 9 to 13.After words writing songs began to become hard for me because i believe that when you write music its suppose to be real life situations. So then i got into producing and still to this day that is a childhood dream i am still working to achieve.

It took him less than 88 minutes to become a hero of mine when I watched The Last Lecture online. After I finished his book, I cried tears filled with love and admiration...loss and appreciation. That was over a year ago, but tonight I missed him all over again. A total stranger who has come the closest in my life to teaching me the meaning of life.

Just read the book....amazing I send all my best wishes to the family, with small children of my own it touched me to read the depths he went through to make sure his children knew how much he loved him. I know this is something I strive for everyday with my kids. I am confident in the knowledge that when they are older they will realize and feel the love he had for them even though he was not there. Here's to years of me making sure that mine know how much I love them.

After you watch Randy Pausch's lecture there are some reflective moments you go through as you start to analyze your life and what lecture you might be giving if you were in his situation. You can pinpoint the brick walls in your life, and how you used them as excuses for not accomplishing what you set out to do. The legacy of Randy Pausch's last lecture is that it reminds everyone to be present in their life and take an active role in making things happen instead of watching your life pass you by.
