How have you been influenced by reading the book or watching the lecture? What message would you like to share with others who’ve been touched by Randy and his story?

Jai, I have wished you peace and thought of you this holiday season. Is it really better to have loved and lost to have never loved at all?
What a shame that your devoted husband [and genius] had to die to make the exceptional impact that he made on so many.
It is surprising how many people speak of him and tell of the meaning he gave to their lives.
Regards to you and the children. Elizabeth

I got the book as a Christmas present & started reading it & could not put it down. My family has no health problems at this time, but the book opened my eyes about life's dreams, joys, struggles, rights & responsibilities. I am deeply moved & my wife & son will be reading this book soon.
Thank you Randy, for sharing your life's joys & tribulations. In life I never knew you, but for eternity now I know you.

This book was powerfully, unbelievably bad. Weak, self-indulgent and trite.

I got this book for this Christmas and it has been maybe the best gift ever. I just finished reading it and I just wanted to thank Mr. Pausch because he has helped me reassure of how healthy our spiritual and mental state need to be despite all troubles so we can enjoy life. I send my best wishes to all his family!!

No one can read this book, or watch The Last Lecture and not be touched in some way.

I just want to thank Randy Pausch (God rest his soul) for his inspiration through his 'Last Lecture' and his book. I overcame my brick wall after reading his book/watching his lecture. On Dec. 21st, 2009, I learned I have been accepted to medical school after applying several times. Mr. Pausch's book/lecture gave me the inspiration I very much needed to pursue my dreams and overcome my brick walls. I will be a better doctor due to his inspiration.

I also lost my own young husband (50) to cancer three years ago. He too, was young, handsome, brilliant and well spoken--brown-haired and brown-eyed as well--with a young child and so much more to offer the world.
I had rather studiously avoided reading the book or listening to the lecture. I couldn't immerse myself in more tragedy, or join the chorus of those whose lives were changed by yet another "grab the moment" bit of pop psychology.
But I watched the full lecture tonight, and regret that I was so hasty to judge. I want my son to see this when he is old enough--he's just 4 1/2 now, and his dad died just before he turned 2--so that he can hear from someone so like his father all the things I wish my husband had somehow memorialized.
This lecture is a tremendous gift. Thank you, Jai, for continuing to share this with us, and for allowing all of us to share in the very intimate experience of your loss.

I have never been so moved by someone. Randy was a truly amazing person with so much love and knowledge to share, and that he did. Everyone should read The Last Lecture and watch it. Thank you so much for sharing yourself with the world. God bless the Pausch family.

I really liked the last lecture both the book and the 'last lecture'. How you didn't let anyone stop you from becoming an imagineer, or a professor,or you life being cut short. I really wished i could have met you.

Mr.Randy, you really proved to be a good Professor to your students, a good husband to you WIFE, a good Father to your lovely children. To put it in simple 3 words 'a good human-being'. This is not your LAST LECTURE, as when I read this, it gives a feel that you're LECTURING it again and again specially for one-self, who is reading this book / viewing this video online, and thus Your presence is still felt. I would consider it as "THE EVER-LASTING LECTURE". As you rightly mentioned that, "this lecture is for your Children, for them to know how their father was and convey them what you wanted to say them when they grow." Simply Brilliant way to do. I wish that this GREAT DREAM also comes true and pray GOD for your 3 cute little children and your WIFE, to have a peaceful life always. Thank you SIR!

Thank you for writing this book. I wish I'd picked it up sooner because I can see that so many things would have been different if I had.
Your book has helped me to get things in perspective in my head and I will be rereading it in the hope that the lessons in there will become internalised.
RIP Randy.

I can't believe he's already gone..I just read this book over the summer and I was going to email this to him until I visited this site only to realize that I'm about a year and a half too late…anyway, this is what I was going to say:
I read your book
And I realize that my appreciation probably doesn't mean much to you at this point
But I just wanted to let you know how inspired I was by your book
Unlike you, I've never had a set dream list per se
I do have a goal list though that's divided into 4 major sections:
Goals [these are ones that I can check off once I finish them..whether they be professional or just for fun..ex: write a book]
Lifelong [some goals that I need to keep working at my whole life…no checklist here..ex: try to make someone's day every day]
Advice [personal advice to myself..things to live by basically..ex: stay optimistic]
And things I've learned about life [these are discoveries I've made about life throughout mine..ex: words are powerful. They have the ability to cause change]
After reading your book, my desire to live by/achieve my personal goals has been strengthened considerably. It also has reinforced my goal of writing a book. Your book is doing exactly what you intended for it to do: helping people realize their dreams and live their life to its greatest potential, and leaving a legacy for your children to find.
So congratulations on achieving your goal and making most of the time given to you.
Enjoy life =)
